Inner Wisdom Psychotherapy

Learn About Our Services

Inner Wisdom Psychotherapy offers a sanctuary for healing and personal growth, focusing on the profound transformation that comes from addressing the foundational aspects of one’s challenges. With our virtual video therapy sessions, we provide accessible and compassionate care to adults across Ontario, tailored to suit your individual needs and schedule.

Individual Psychotherapy

Lasting change happens when you understand the patterns driving your thoughts, emotions, and behaviours.

Psychotherapy offers a safe, compassionate, and non-judgmental space where you can slow down and make sense of what you’re experiencing. You will build a greater understanding of yourself and how to move forward through your current struggles.

Rather than simply treating symptoms, you will understand the underlying patterns that are keeping you stuck and develop greater self-awareness, healthier coping strategies, and practical tools to respond differently to life’s challenges.

Our work together is collaborative and individualized. We’ll identify your goals, explore the internal and external factors influencing your well-being, and create a personalized treatment plan that reflects your unique needs and strengths.

Therapy Tailored to You

Starting therapy can feel overwhelming, especially if it’s your first time. You don’t need to have all the answers before you begin. We’ll move at a pace that feels comfortable for you, and together create a therapy plan designed to meet your goals, values, and readiness for change.

From our very first session, we’ll work together to understand what has brought you to therapy and identify the changes you want to make. We determine what you want to focus on in sessions and  the experiences you want to process. This creates a supportive and safe therapy plan where you will have clarity and direction on the path forward for how we will work together. Therapy is most effective when you have a therapy plan that is aligned to what matters most to you.

Whether you’re struggling with anxiety, trauma, substance use challenges, grief, or a major life transition, your therapy will be  designed to help you better understand yourself, develop practical tools for navigating life’s challenges, and create meaningful, lasting change.

Rather than relying on a single therapeutic approach, Heidi thoughtfully integrates a range of evidence-based therapies to meet your individual needs.

Depending on your goals, therapy may include:

  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) to identify and shift unhelpful patterns of thinking and behaviour.
  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help you respond differently to difficult thoughts and emotions while building a life guided by your values.
  • Internal Family Systems Informed Parts Work to deepen self-understanding, heal emotional wounds, and cultivate greater self-compassion for all parts of you.
  • Solution-Focused and Strengths-Based Therapy to recognize your existing strengths and build practical solutions.
  • Narrative Therapy to help you reshape the stories and experiences that influence how you see yourself and your future.

Heidi also integrates principles from Somatic approaches, Motivational Interviewing, Attachment Theory, Family Systems Theory, and trauma-informed, anti-oppressive, and culturally responsive practice to ensure therapy is compassionate, collaborative, and tailored specifically to you.

Clinical Supervision, Consultation and Workshops:

Providing exceptional client care begins with investing in your own professional growth. Whether you’re a new therapist building confidence or an experienced clinician seeking consultation on complex cases, quality clinical supervision provides the opportunity to strengthen your skills, expand your knowledge, and continue growing as a reflective practitioner. My goal is to create a supportive and collaborative environment where you feel challenged to grow while also feeling genuinely encouraged and valued as a clinician.

Heidi offers clinical supervision, consultation, and professional development to Registered Social Workers and organizations across Ontario. Her approach is collaborative, supportive, and grounded in evidence-based practice, creating a space where clinicians can explore challenges openly, deepen clinical reasoning, and build confidence in their work.

Supervision and consultation can help you:

  • Strengthen your clinical knowledge, skills, and professional confidence.
  • Navigate complex client presentations with greater clarity.
  • Identify your strengths while supporting continued professional growth.
  • Deepen your clinical formulation and decision-making skills.
  • Enhance self-awareness and reflective practice.
  • Develop sustainable strategies for self-care and reduce the risk of burnout.
  • Explore areas of specialization and advance your professional development.

With more than 20 years of experience in counselling, psychotherapy, leadership, and clinical education, Heidi brings a wealth of knowledge to supervision and consultation. Her background includes serving in leadership and clinical training roles within non-profit organizations, facilitating supervision and consultation groups for therapists in both public and private practice, and providing program development and policy consultation to social service agencies.

Heidi is a qualified Clinical Supervisor, having completed trainings in the Foundations and Explorations of Clinical Supervision. She is committed to fostering a reflective, engaging, and supportive learning environment where clinicians feel encouraged to ask questions, strengthen their clinical judgment, and continue developing into confident, ethical, and effective practitioners.
